Limitation to My Response to Your Comments

September 30, 2017

Every day I receive between 50 and 100 comments. Many of these comments request information or advise from me.

I appreciate the honour of your request for information.

Unfortunately, there is only one of me managing and writing the blog. Consequently, I simply do not have enough time to reply to each of your questions.

There are many comments that ask the same question. In these situations where I have the information, I will provide my knowledge in a post, time permitting.

I will respond to any comment made by a person who is experimenting with my software development tools.

Thank You

ARRAY SOFTWARE PARTS LIBRARY

The names, float, and typedef software parts libraries have been
completely tested. Release versions are now available on both a Windows
and Linux machine.

APPLE PORTABILITY PROJECT

The iMACS machine has been successfully repaired (hard drive replaced).
Gcc has been successfully downloaded and has been used for the first
time. An error has been found in the precfile routine. This error
is caused by differences in the Linux system utilities and the Apple
utilities, namely fcloseall does not appear to be in the Apple utilities.

The Role of the Media

September 27, 2017

Both the incompetent and the competent benefit from
media attention.

The competent leader requires community participation.
The media helps him to obtain the participants.

The incompetent needs 15 minutes of fame. The media
helps him to satisfy his greedy goals.

Unfortunately the entertainment associated with the
incompetent attracts a lot of media attention.

The competent pioneer finds new solutions to current
problems.

WHATIFWE were to provide the media attention needed
to develop hope from the new ideas of the competent
pioneers?

Disaster Seminar 13 — Current Data Solution

September 26, 2017

A Flash Drive will make your data available to another machine

1. All of the your data folders must be on the flash drive

2. Every time you work on your data, update the flash drive.

3. Keep the flash drive in your pocket.

Sounds like a lot of work!

It isn’t as much as you think.

Also, please keep in mind that not having your data
will create a lot more work.

WhatifWe127 Blog — Web Browser Inquiries

September 24, 2017

There have been many comments and inquiries relative to Web
Browser and Display format problems relative to my blog and
website. I appreciate your comments but I do not have sufficient
time to individually respond to them. I have prepared this
post that will hopefully provide some answers.

Relative to the blog, I use the free Word Press blog site.
The only thing that I prepare is the text. I don’t have any
videos. I do attach pdf files containing my articles. I must
assume that WordPress is up-to-date relative to the various
Web Browsers and Displays. I have absolutely no control over
the format.

Relative to my website, I designed it a number of years ago
using Microsoft Front Page which is now obsolete. I would
assume that it would not behave properly on some of the newer
Web Browsers and Displays. I am currently redesigning it
using the CSS technology. I am using this need as a means of
building standard Web Site development kits and I cannot
at this time predict when this will be completed.

My Problems With LinkedIn.

September 23, 2017

I need to alert everyone that I do not have a working LinkedIn system.

I have made several attempts at correcting the problems without success.

People trying to connect with me on LinkedIn will be unsuccessful, no
matter how much I want to connect with them. I need to alert everyone that I do not have a working LinkedIn system.

be included.

RELATIVITY / TOASTMASTERS

A significate upgrade to the Prague section has been made
both in the fourth speech as well as the actual book. The
speech will be read out-loud again.

The Experimental Process — Any One Can do It!

September 20, 2017

Many years ago, there was the HeathKit company.

It had for sale various electronics kits.

They sold amateur radio, television, instrumentation kits.

I bought my first personal computer from them. It was a Heathkit H89.

That computer was the beginning of my personal research effort.

This computer resulted in three overseas conference publications.

I have never taken any course in software engineering or electronics.

I have learned everything through an extensive experimental effort.

Would you believe it if I told you that every person knows how
to experiment.

No! Let me show you that it is true.

As soon as a baby gains enough strength to roll over and get his
tummy off of the floor, he crawls around and gets into things.

What does he do with them? He puts them in his mouth.

Did you ever think that a baby’s mouth is his best instrument at birth?

It has to be! Otherwise he won’t be able to eat.

You are not a little green guy from outer space.

You were once a baby. When you started to crawl, you put things
into your mouth.

Therefore, you basically know how to experiment.

I rest my case.

Disaster Seminar 12 — But I Like Quick Books

September 18, 2017

I also liked Quick Books.

1. I used it for many years.

2. It was quite easy to use.

3. It worked only on my Windows machine.

4. There was no Linux Version.

Then my machine broke.

1. My version did not work on my new machine.

2. I scrambled to find a solution

3. Open Office proved to be the solution

a. There was a version for both Windows and Linux

b. The downloads were free of charge.

c. The files are identical on both machines.

The Purpose of My Blog

September 17, 2017

The original purpose of my blog was to provide me an easy
means of reporting my activity on my personally funded
research and development activities on error-free software
development methods.

I subsequently expanded the purpose of my blog to encourage
others to improve their skills by conducting their own
regular experimental process.

I became a software engineer in 1966 due to an experiment
that I had performed. I have never taken a course in
Software Engineering. You are encouraged to take a similar
path. If my tools can be of any benefit, they can be
downloaded free-of-charge from my web-site, http://www.whatifwe.com
