“Class Preparation” Library

The functional test of the parameter library
continues. The functions for obtaining min, max
and empty values for integer variables has been
successfully tested in both the load and read
functions of the library.

“Class Preparation” Library

The functional test of the parameter library
is complete. Incorporating the parts of this
library into the arithmetic library will be started.

“Class Preparation” Library

The functional test of the parameter library
has been started and all of the parts associated
with loading the associated postoffice have been
successfully tested. The testing parts associated
with reading the data is next.

“Class Preparation” Libraries

The preparation of the software parts defining the
classcommonconditional library has been started. To
facility the development of this project, the parameter
library has been prepared to provide common functions
in both the arithmetic and conditional library has been
prepared, compiled, and is ready for test. The
functional test will now be prepared.

2019-10-03

The functional test of the parameter has been delayed.
Additional changes are needed. First, I eliminated the
need for specifying an alias name for defining the
postoffice. I used the postoffice file name and access
code to define the name. Additional modifications are
being considered.

“COMMON CLASS ARITHMETIC” LIBRARY

The functional development and testing of the commonclassarithmetic
library has been completed in the windows environment. Minor
modifications to the commonclassfloat library were required.

Portability challenges are necessay. To make it totally portable
with the apple environment will require changing the tab setting
of the Windows and Linux environments from two to eight.

There are also problems in the Linux text editor. A means of making
it a strict ANSI text editor or replacing it must be found.

RELATIVITY BOOK

“SECTION 5 – A NEW DISCOVERY?”: Was reviewed. Minor modifications
were needed. The first example looked ok. The second example may
need pictures, The next step will be to review the second example pictures
in the associated Toastmasters speech

TOASTMASTERS—RELATIVITY

SPEECH 7B (“SECTION 5 – A NEW DISCOVERY?”) Was reviewed. The
pictures were good enough for presentation. The next step will be to convert
the second example pictures for inserting them into the book.

EXPLRPDE PUBLISH PLAN

The overall objective is to prepare the command line program
for downloading a Win32, Linux and Apple version of the explpde
programming tool. The Linux section is now completely prepared.
The next task is to check, modify the windows section.

WORKSPACE PREPARATION PROJECT

The preparation of the “PREP_LIBRARY_WRITE_LIBRARY”
and the modification of the “PREP_LIBRARY_TAB_REMOVAL”
and “PREP_LIBRARY_TAB_WRITE” software parts have been
accomplished. The next task is to prepare a Library Preparation
Utility.

WORKSPACE PREPARATION PROJECT

The preparation of the “PREP_LIBRARY_BASIC_LIBRARY”
for building the basic library (one without any includes) has begun.

MACHINE PORTABILITY

The biggest problem with portability between the Linux, Microsoft and Apple
machine is the size of the tab character. Specifically, the size of the tab character
in the text editor in the Apple machine is 8-characters and is not resettable.
In the Windows and Linux machine where I am using the Notepad++ editor,
the tab character can be reset and is currently set at two. Today, I have found
isome equivalent text editors for the Apple machine which I can download
free of charge. This, obviously, is the next step in the machine portability efforts.

MACHINE PORTABILITY

I downloaded an Apple “equivalent” to the Notepad+++ editor. It did not have
ability to change the size of the tab character. The best current solution to the
tab character size problem is to set the tab size of the Windows and Linux editors
at eight characters. I have also developed a softwarepartslibrary for replacing tab
characters with the equivalent number of blank characters.

Common Class Routine Libraries

The basiccommonclassstructlibrary has been successfully installed on
the linux machine

Common Class Routine Libraries

An effort to install the basiccommonstructclasslibrary into the Apple machine
was attempted without success. Most of the problem was the many
workspace files needed to make the installation. A library, basiclibrary,
tabremoval, include process defining files. The differences in the
tab size created much of the problem. It is now time to build the
library that makes all of these files from a single file. This project
has been considered from some time. The preparation of the
prepareworkspace library will begin.

Common Class Routine Libraries

I began developing the software parts for the commonclassroutine library.
The need for a _BASIC_STRUCT_ALIAS_EXITS routine for
verifying the uniqueness of the Routine Name occurred.

Common Class Struct Library

A _BASIC_STRUCT_ALIAS_EXISTS software part was added to the commonclassstruct
library and thoroughly tested.

Common Class Struct Library

The include file and basiccommonclassstruct library have been prepared. It will be
tested when this library is used to test the commonclassroutine library

PORTABILITY PROJECT

A make file for the gcc version of the windows explrpde has been successfully
developed. The correction of expected errors will now begin. This will be
done using the gcc version of the windos stndpcg program.

RELATIVITY BOOK / TOASTMASTERS

I have been using Toastmasters as an experimental laboratory for developing
my book. The evaluation of my last speech suggested a significant update
to make my “speed of light” discovery more understandable. Today, I
discovered a possible understandable example, namely a traffic signal.
I have started developing the associated presentation.

The minor modifications of to the CommonClassStruct have been
implemented and certification test have been restarted.

discovered a possible understandable example, namely a traffic signal.
Specifically, how does the signal behave when the vehicle velocity is
greater than the speed of light? I plan to make another speech.

PORTABILITY PROJECT

A successful stndpcg make file has been made for apple machine.
It was successfully used to prepare a functioning apple stndpcg
executable. The stndpcg program is now completely portable
between the Windows, Linux and Windows machine. The next
task will be to make the explrpde portable.
