APPLE PROJECT

I probably have found the error in the MAKE file preventing
the linking of the object files into an executable. It appears
that the Apple process requires specifying the system library
in the link command whereas the Linux version did not. I
have found a library that appears to be associated with the
gcc command and plan to make the needed modifications to
to the make file software parts library.

The modifications of the make file software parts library
to permit library files to be included in the linkage
command have been started.

RELATIVITY BOOK

Based on the recommendations of my Toastmaster Mentor,
I have begun to modify the Introduction. Two pages will
be involved, the first of which will introduce the subject.
A rough draft text version of the first page has been prepared.

RELATIVITY BOOK

The rough draft versions of the introduction (2-pages) have
been pasted into an Open Office document. Only one Open source
page was required. The next task will be to review the
Open Source Introduction and make the necessary corrections.

APPLE PROJECT

The order of the compile statements were reversed and several
Make file generation errors were found. One was a name error
which was corrected immediately. The other which places the
wrong file extent (*.cpp instead of *.h) for the called
routines will be corrected next.

RELATIVITY BOOK

The detailed presentation of the first Rule of Physics has
been prepared. The required increase of the strength
of presentation was accomplished by restructuring the
paragraphs and choosing a proper title.

APPLE PROJECT

The extent error has been corrected. The revised make file
will be tested next.

2017/05/15

APPLE PROJECT

The tests on the revised make file failed. The problem is
with a specific header file and re-arranging the header
file list to exactly duplicate the current Linux make
file did not solve the problem. A Careful examination of
the specific file and a search for An Apple make file manual
are needed.

2017/05/16

APPLE PROJECT

The prehost.h was removed from the header list of the make file.
The make file now functioned properly with a number of object
files being generated. An error was encountered in the compilation
of the precfile source was being compiled; specifically the
system routine fcloseall was not recognized.

APPLE PROJECT

The necessary files (source, make files) have been transferred
to the IMACS machine. The testing of the make file in the
Apple machine will begin.

APPLE PROJECT

Ran the make file on the IMACS for the first time. Base directory
was incorrect. Modifications to the source code will be made and
a new make file will be generated.

RELATIVITY BOOK

The page describing my efforts to test the accuracy of my computer
simulation effort reported in Oslo, Norway has been completed.
The revised page has been added to the Open Source version of the
book. The format of this page will be reviewed.

APPLE PROJECT

Base directory
was corrected. Make and object file were found.
There are still problems in processing the header file. An attempt
to find documents that will define the gcc / apple application.

RELATIVITY BOOK

A tentative Early History section has been prepared. The goal
of this section is to encourage the hobby by showing the
unexpected benefits that can happen. Personal research will
be introduced later. This section will be reviewed and modified
as necessary.

RELATIVITY BOOK

A tentative Early History section has been reviewed and
found activity support the overall goal of the book. The
next task will be to address the first of the two Beginning
Lockheed sections.

APPLE PROJECT

During the process of assembling the source section of the test
project, it was found that there is an unavoidable need for
optional header file specification instructions for each
subroutine. I knew that it was possible but hoped that
it was avoidable. It is not. The next task will be to prepare
this software part instruction.

The next task to address the second Beginning Lockheed sections.

APPLE PROJECT

The Optional Header instruction has been prepared and is
being inserted into the test program. The preparation of
the test program continues.

APPLE IMACS COMPUTER

Four more subroutines of the STNDPCG has been prepared
producing object files. The main routine was compiled
but did not produce an object files. More needs to be
learned. It is possible that a makefile software project
for Linux may be able to prepare the make file.

APPLE IMACS COMPUTER

I have tentatively decided to prepare the make file
on the Linux machine using a makefile software project.
Both Linux and Apple use the UNIX file structure.
The existing makefile software project will have to
be extensively revised.

PORTABLE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT- typedef

The _BASIC_TYPEDEF_LOAD_BEGIN, _BASIC_TYPEDEF_BEGIN_TYPEDEF
_BASIC_TYPEDEF_LOAD_UNSIGNED, _BASIC_TYPEDEF_LOAD_SIGNED,
_BASIC_TYPEDEF_END_TYPEDEF commands of the typedef software
parts library have been functionally tested. When testing the
_BASIC_TYPEDEF_LOAD_FLOAT, an error was found in the float
decimal software parts library relative to handling a zero.

APPLE IMACS COMPUTER

I contacted Apple and asked for advice relative to the missing
component. They indicated that I would need to obtain the
“STARTUP DISK”. I would need to obtain (purchase?) this disk
from an Apple Store. Furthermore I would need to make an
appointment with the store.

APPLE IMACS COMPUTER

There is not an Apple store near to my residence. The only
stores are over 15 miles away. I contacted Apple and asked
if one could be ordered (purchased?) over the internet and
mailed to me. I was referred to a supervisor who promised
to mail one to me at no cost.

I am having considerable difficulties using
LibreOffice and OpenOffice to prepare
my book in the appropriate format. I
believe that now it may be time to prepare a special
tool for preparing a book in a *.html format where
it can be easily converted to the appropriate
format.
